Thank you to all the folks who turned out last night for West Side Main Street's annual meeting and supported our work by participating in the silent auction of products donated by West Side business owners. We raised $2039 from bidders for products donated by: Charleston Light Opera Guild, Capitol Clay Arts Company, FM Pile Hardware, Spa Elements, Forren Soil Landscape Company, Watson's Picture Framing, Winter Floral and Antiques, Moon Tann, Treasure Cove Antiques and Collectibles, Kelley's Men's Shop, The Smokehouse, Libby Ballard, Charleston-Kanawha Housing residents, WV State University Extension Service, Adkins Design, Pauline Lester, Risin Dough Bakery, Sodaro's Electronics, Gaddy Engineering,Charleston Business Machines, West Mane Salon, BB&T West Side, Charleston Department Store, Queen Bead Jewelry, Mama Rosa's, American Billiards and Young's Department Store.
Over one hundred people attended to hear about our 2009 accomplishments and to enjoy food by Steve Freeman and music by Souvenir. New board members were also elected for the 2010 term. Those elected as new board members were: Reverend James Ealy ( city councilman and Second Avenue Neighborhood), Phil WEndling (BB&T West Side branch), Dennis Strawn ( WSNA representative and resident), Tonya Parker (West Side business owner), Tim Forren (West Side business owner), Brenda Ashworth (West Side resident), Karen Allen (West Side resident), Karen Garnes (West Side business owner), Joe Denault (City Councilman and West Side resident) and Jenny Fertig (WV State University Extension Service).
